Fresh hand made hamburgers, The gumbo was very good, and the shrimp and grits was awesome. We will be back to try the BBQ we heard it was real good.The service was great !!!The price was cheaper than what I was expecting.

Good pork bbq (very juicy), good fries, good potato salad; excellent catfish, terrible coleslaw, good baked beans. Would go again.

Literally a road side BBQ stand. The food was good and plentiful. It has a sort of country décor with a ton of license plates! The place was clean and the service was good!

Stumbled into a great local restaurant. I was thrilled with the burger. Obviously handmade on site and tasted great. They make all the sides from scratch and I enjoyed the fried okra and fries. I will happily eat here again on my next trip through. They also volunteered to sub my 3yo's fries for okra when she heard me order mine. Very accommodating service! Save room for dessert! The peach bread pudding was worth the calories.

Hard to choose, Capt. Noah's was excellent, the Gumbo is one of the best I've savored,the friend Oysters were perfect the fish moist and delicious, hard to believe but even the beans and coleslaw we're over the top. This place should be on Drive-ins Diners, & Dives, yes the portions and taste are great! I'm totally sad we couldn't come back soon.

I had the Naked Smoked wings and they were delicious! They had a savory smokey flavor and the wings were a nice size too! I would definitely go back again!

I had a Philly and my husband had roast beef. He said it was bland and dry but my philly was delicious. Staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean.

Headed to the beach, wanted something good and home town cooking and home town folks. The staff was great, and the food was amazing. We will be stopping back by on our way home. I highly, highly recommend

Great food and service!

First time trying the shack out it doesn't look like much from the outside but their food is absolutely amazing. I had the grilled chicken wrap with baked beans and french fries and potato salad and they were by far the best I've ever had anywhere. My husband had the shack burger and loved it. The service was absolutely delightful. I highly recommend that you stop in and try them out.

Honestly not impressed. Usually when you go to a little hole in the wall BBQ restaurant you expect people to be overly friendly and for the food to be really good. The brisket was very tender and had a good flavor, but it was barely warm. The cheese grits were very bland, the fries were undercooked, and the beans (which actually had a great flavor) were cold. Drink refills cost extra and it was $32 for 2 people. They were also out of half of the menu. Definitely not worth the money.

Easily the best BBQ my husband and I have ever had. The atmosphere makes it even better. Very affordable and you get more than you can eat. This is a "Never judge a book by its cover" kind of place.

Great food! Most places brag about home cooking but this place really delivers. The wings though plain are really good and the shrimp and grits was excellent. So glad I ran out of hours at the truckstop across the street.

Big @ss burgers! Portion size on the sides were much larger than expected. BBQ was pretty good, and the sweet-heat sauce was a great mix of tang and spice (on the low end of the heat scale though). Service was excellent! Very prompt and attentive. Definitely a come back kinda place.

We stopped at The Shack on our way down I-65. The Brisket was delicious, the slaw was good, and the fries were fine. We loved the row of deer mounts above our heads and the deer herd on the way to the kitchen. Fun eclectic decor with very friendly attentive staff, and multiple TVs to watch your favorite team. You can't go wrong with this place.

Came here a couple years ago and it was so good last time had to stop by again. Can't beat a good grilled ribeye! They had crawfish tonight as well. Everyone is very nice and respectful. They've upgraded since the last time too. It's a bit nicer. Great place to get a beer and a steak on a Friday night!

Meh... BBQ was ok, BBQ sauce was good, small portions even when generous portions stated, grits were gross, baked beans probably from a can, service was friendly but kind of slow, decent kids menu options. I would not return.

Top ratings for a very good place. Staff is nice, food was very good. Will definitely go back here again when im in the area. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Just passing through with the family and decided to stop. We were all glad that we did! We all had some form of BBQ and it was all delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and conversational. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Good, simple Southern BBQ. I had pork Butt, Cheezy cheese grits, and beans. All of it about perfect, even the Ice tea went down easy. Id stop at the nearby truck stop special just for a chance to eat here again.

$14 burger that wasn’t as good as what you could get at Wendy’s. Served my husbands meal 15 minutes before mine. He had BBQ ribs that were moist but tasteless. He said it was better than he could have made, but he can’t boil water.

Really cool atmosphere. All the food was really good. Funny adult jokes in bathrooms they serve beer and liquor there was an overhead train track that went around the restaurant. We will definitely make this a stop whenever we go to the beach.

Thought it was great. Perfect restaurant in my mind, $10 for a great lunch. Everything was prepared well and was of better quality than chain restaurants of much higher prices. Good portions too.

Hubby & I shared the BBQ Sampler Platter. Every meat was delicious. Coleslaw and potato salad was good (with some salt). Fried pickles were great. Waitress was attentive and kept drinks refilled quickly.

Pulled pork was perfect the slaw was awesome yes you nailed it lol baked beans potato salad great very friendly owners and help. It's worth theStop! Thank you!

Good little hole in the wall place, with decent food and good atmosphere

The food is delicious. An assortment of tasty barbecue a wee bit of seafood. And even a collection of sweets ranging from muffins to brownies or even fudge. I highly recommend The Shack for all family outings and especially celebrating foods.

Nice laid-back atmosphere. Food was tasty. Portions were perfect. Loved the baked beans, they were the best we've had anywhere. Definitely will visit again.

First off, this place is too cute and the two girls were awesome! Ordered their shrimp salad to go and it's so fresh! Not from around the area but would come back. One of the chicks even gave me a bowl of water for our pup!

The Wings were good but the service needs to improve. The Waitress spent too much time talking to Coworkers and on the phone. Hope it will improve.

Great little stop. We were traveling home to Florida and stopped here on a whim and were not disappointed. It is a cute little country restaurant decorated nicely with antique/vintage items. Our waitress was Great and we felt Welcome as soon as we entered. I shared the conecuh sausage dog with my daughter and my husband had a pork sandwich. Their BBQ sauce is home made, the okra was hand battered, and we loved the potato salad which is an item I normally do not like. Stop in for a quick stop on your travels!

Stopped for lunch with three others. Service was ok. Neither of our plates were delicious. I paid about $15 for a Smoked Butt Plate with a drink. The meat was so dry I couldn’t even chew it!!! Left it on my plate and went to a gas station for chips and a soda until we got back to town. That’s how poorly it was cooked. Baked beans tasted like canned beans, sauce was very sweet, potato salad was decent. Outside of the Decor and silly bathroom signs, I will NEVER stop here. Keep going anotherfew exits to Pine Apple for better food and prices

Food was cold and terrible service bad

The waitress was polite and knew her menu items. She as well remembered us and our order. The food was delectable and seasoned just right! The desserts in that place looked awesome!!

This is a definition of a shack but good in every way. It's just off the interstate exit. The food was very good! Got the BBQ sampler plate with baked beans and fried okra. The chicken and beef brisket were my favorite. Both sides were tasty. Wish they had more then one kind of bbq sauce, but none the less, it was delicious.

Stopped here on our way from Mobile to Huntsville. Good, home cooking type place. Fish (mullet and catfish) sandwiches are served on white bread, but they did offer a bun. Both came with three good-sized filets that were well fried and meaty. We also tried the loaded potato. It was a big spud with generous toppings. For sides we had cheese grits, homemade fries, and red potatoes with onions. All three were delicious. I'd definitely recommend this as a regular stop.

We stopped here on our way home from the beach and will likely make this a regular stop on future trips. The food was great. The white BBQ sauce, smoked wings and beans were delicious! The staff was extremely friendly and hard working! Thanks for a great stop!

This is what we got for over fourteen dollars never again my husband had to go get more food from McDonald's to get full... This is a catfish meal I have never gotten such small pieces of catfish never again...
